a gathering of birds

In most of the world today, even in remote or wilderness areas, the sound of nature is eclipsed by the sound of industry. As an offering to the refreshing, restorative, and healing power of nature sounds, Garuda Records presents the following field recordings. All were digitally recorded and carefully mastered.

One continuous track, over 53 minutes total.

Rio Chimehuin photo Río Chimehuín, Three Audio Perspectives (CD-R $12.00)

Take you to the river! The sound of water rushing through rocks is surprisingly melodic upon close listening, fascinatingly complex, mesmerizing, and often difficult to record. The three perspectives of this enchanting Patagonian stream are close to the surface; no wind, motors, animals, or other intrusions.

Recorded near Junín de los Andes, Neuquén, Argentina.

Three tracks, 60 minutes total.

Casablanca trees photo Dawn Sounds of Antillanca (CD-R $12.00)

It's a cool, wet, morning. The mountain is covered with dense fog and the animals are out to party. These sounds aren't like anything you'll hear in North America or Europe. If anyone knows what creatures are making these whoops, cackles, tweets, buzzes and screams, please let me know.

Recorded near the base of Volcan Casablanca, Chile.

Three tracks, 60 minutes total.

You can see a short photo essay about hiking up the mountain here.
