Garuda Records is a recording studio established by Ed in San Francisco. From 1987-2002 Garuda Records served the Bay Area with narration recording and editing, music recording and mixing, sound design and music composition, CD mastering, and multiple language project management.
At Garuda Ed produced hundreds of audio tours, many in association with Antenna Audio. These works are heard in major American museums and historical sites around the country. Most of these projects are multiple language productions, in which an audio tour is produced in English and several additional languages. For these projects Ed managed all aspects of the translation, hiring and directing voice talent, as well as audio engineering and production. In radio, Ed worked for KQED in San Francisco, mixing live music broadcasts and engineering news programs. He's hosted programs at KPFA in Berkeley and has produced numerous features and documentaries. At KOPN in Columbia, MO he was host and producer of the Ionizations Concert Series, an innovative series which commissioned new works for live radio broadcast from diverse artists as Diamanda Galas, Laurie Anderson, David Moss, Douglas Ewart, Charles Amirkhanian, Pauline Oliveros, Transmuseq, Ruth Anderson and Sheldon Atovsky. |
